PORTFOLIO BLOG

All weekly assignments are based on the unit we are covering in class, i.e. PerceptionMemoryMeaning. The assignments are timed to show up in this site the week before they are due.

Assignments submitted after the deadline (11:59pm of due date) will not be graded. Communication is a deadline profession. In my class, deadlines are serious business.

I will not accept any assignments submitted via email. All assignments MUST be submitted through your personal portfolio blog.

Please check the blog lists in this companion website to make sure that I have your blog URL correct. If you do not see your name in the list, it is because I have not yet received your URL. Send it to me. If I cannot see your blog, I cannot grade your assignment.

All blog assignments are graded PASS/FAIL.  For details on the blog, grades and deadlines, please visit:

Where people lose a Pass with their portfolio posts …

Met Deadline?
Check your time zone in your WordPress settings… does your visual look like it’s posted a day late? The first week, you get a “do over”. After that the assignment gets a “NO PASS” because I’m serious about deadlines. This is not negotiable.

Word Count?
Did you write 500+ words in your post?

Learning/Connect?
In your post, did you write about what you learned from the assignment? What I cannot see, and cannot know, is what you learned from this (learning)? What parts of the theory (facts) we talk about in class or in the readings did you use (connect) in your analysis?

Did you do all parts of the assignment?
In specifications grading, the assignment must be complete — meaning every specification must be met completely — or it doesn’t PASS. There is no partial credit. If the bus fare is $1.50 and all you have is $1.00, you walk.

It astonishes me how some people miss parts of the assignment even though everything is well documented. Read the assignment through several times before you begin. Make sure you know what you need to do and where you need to go with the assignment. If you feel that a specification is not clear, please email me WELL BEFORE the deadline, and I’ll address it.
